At 150 watts of power for the A2150 and 50 watts for the A1250, plus the ability to consistently drive a 4-ohm load, this is a workhorse that can be used as a building block in any system. Its automation and protection circuits serve to make it perfect choice for home theater or multi-room/multi-zone applications.

This switching type amplifier class has incredible efficiency, above 90%, as higher power is demanded. This means substantially less heat is produced even though the amplifier is able to produce substantial power. This also means a reduction in size as smaller heat sinks are required and the electronic circuitry can be more compact and reside in a smaller chassis.

Bridging two channels into one drives almost triple the power into a single output. This feature creates greater flexibility in system design when additional power is a requirement.

Origin amplifiers can be place in a rack or inside furniture and require no direct access to function. They are turned on out of standby mode either by sensing the audio signal from a preamp or receiver or by a 12-volt signal from any number of components. They also have a 12-volt output to trigger other components as necessary.

Built-in circuits that sense both thermal overload or a short-circuit in the speaker connections, will shut down the amplifier until the temperature level returns to normal operating levels or the short in the connections is corrected. This protects the amplifier from permanent damage and avoids costly service visits and repairs.

The DSP3-150 is the ideal amp for situations where a passive subwoofer and multi-speaker channels are required. The dedicated 300w 8-ohm subwoofer channel has ample power to push passive subwoofers to their peak.

The DSP2-200 provides ample power in a small frame. With an easy to operate rotary dial for DSP control, and 200w of power on each channel, these are ideal for 8-ohm landscape, subwoofers, or stereo listening.

Half rack width and 1U height make it easy load four of these into roughly the same space as a single traditional amplifier.

Many consumer electronics just don't put enough volume out to drive a high-fidelity amplifier to its peak performance. That's where the PA15 comes in. Add the module into your chain, and adjust the output as needed.

Origin Acoustics® Foundation 2 Channel Preamplifier

Gain staging, or gain structuring is the act of setting the gain for each amplification stage (gain stage) in a sound system to achieve a target system volume that minimizes noise and distortion. Said another way, proper gain staging gives your sound system the best signal-to-noise ratio. By attempting to reach the loudest peaks possible (without clipping) at each stage, you can obtain an ideal gain structure, but to do this, you need to consider each part of your system and understand the principles involved.

Gain staging is the art of setting the volume for each stage of amplification to minimize noise and distortion. While this is a fundamental concept for live sound and recording, it does apply to custom integration as well. Ideal gain staging ensures your sound system achieves the best signal to noise ratio. The goal is to maximize the volume at each point in the chain without clipping. EG: If you have an iPad, a PA15, and an A2150 amplifier, you have three ways to control the gain. One primary way to start this process is to max the volume on your input device, set the amplifier trim at roughly 50%, and then adjust the PA15, up to approximately 80%, until you have achieved the max-loudness your client requires.

If you're still unable to produce enough dB, then adjust the trim on the amp. Just be aware that when you raise the volume on the amplifier or the PA-15, you are increasing the noise floor, which is the amount of signal noise created by all the equipment. So, we recommend only using your pre-amplifiers and amplifiers up to around 80% of their max volume. And while we are proud of the low signal to noise ration of our amplifiers, this best practice will also help prevent clipping when your client maxes the system input out.
